What does EPDM stand for? What is the difference between EPDM and 3 layer built up felt systems? An EPDM system is a single layer of synthetic rubber, cut to size and then adhered or ballasted to your roof. We guarantee this system for 20 years. A 3 layer built up felt system is layers of bitumen based felt applied using hot bitumen and then covered with granite chippings.
